How does such a beautiful boy come to be? Let's see what Kevin and Liz looked like growing up...

Kevin's first picture (so to speak). This is 1969. Mom is pregnant with Kevin and dad is holding two year old brother Carey.

1969. Liz becomes one with the world. The sty on her eye was removed by surgery when she was 4 months old. The Dr's said that it's possble that it was an undeveloped identical twin. Liz's mom said that she couldn't have imagined life with two of her.

Easter 1970. Mom had dressed sweet little Kevin in his powder blue church suit and set him down to attend to things. She wanted something to keep me busy and spotted my chocolate easter bunny. She figured "It's in the box, what harm can he do?" She turned her back for one minute and then turned back to see this.

1970. Liz starts to experiment with hair styles. Liz's mom took her to get her picture taken and had to wait in line for hours. By the time they got into the studio, the best the photographer could get out of Liz was a semi-smiling grimace.

Christmas 1975. Kevin proudly holds his hot dog brush and comb set.

1972. Liz is wearing her favorite color.

1976. And we can plainly see just how increadibly SKINNY Kevin was. Mom said that as a baby, she had to practically shovel the food into me. I ate and ate and ate. I had a very high metabolism and burned it all off.

1973. Liz's first foray into ocular fashion. You can see how red her hair was back then. Liz's mom said that in the summer she was practically carrot orange.

1978 at the camp ground. Even as a kid, Kevin was a bit of a ham.

1977. Liz's first Communion. She was excited about the transition. It meant that she wouldn't have to sit in the pew anymore while the rest of the family went up for Communion. Not that she knew what it meant, but she was happy.

1979. Christmas at Grandmother Martin's house, unwrapping presents with cousin Denise.

1978. Short and sweet. Look at that smile. I think this is where Chris gets his charm.

1981. Kevin is definitely getting his geek on (some would ask if it's ever been off...).

1979. Olin Mills photography. Liz has always been an athletic person. She was on the cheerleading squad for several years.

1984. Mom was a booster for Carey's football team. She painted her face, sold bells, mascots and earings (which were scarfed up by the boys far more than by the girls). She laughed when the boosters voted her Tackiest Mother of the Year.

1981. Liz makes the cut for the Northridge 7th grade vollyball team. The running joke of our friends now is that Liz is a State champion. They have no clue that she actually did play volleyball. The joke's on them.

1985. The hair starts to grow. Kevin is still skin and bones.

1985. Liz is on the drill team. Durimng her second year, she made Captain.

1987. Graduation day. Kevin is 6'2" and 130lbs.

1987. Senior picture. One of the highlights of Liz's year was making a video with Channel 7 news. They shot a short "film" to the tune of "Future's So Bright, I Gotta Wear Shades."
